Break The Divide's Climate Skills & Community Building Fellowship Program

For international students and newcomer youth in downtown Toronto (ages 18 - 30)

The Climate Skills & Community Building Program is specifically designed to empower international students and newcomer youth to understand and respond to climate challenges during their time in Canada. Through an open online course on climate change and resilience-building, participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to become informed global citizens and environmental guardians.

In addition to the online course, participants will have the opportunity to engage in in-person "climate cafés" where they can share their thoughts and experiences on climate change in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Here are some key details about the program:

  • FREE and open to international students and newcomer youth aged 18 to 30
  • Includes an open online course component, where students can develop their environmental knowledge by going through five modules
  • Includes in-person and online climate cafés (study groups) to support the participants in their learning journey
  • Creates a community for students to connect and flourish
  • Completion certificates from Break The Divide and the Synergia Institute are available upon completion
